To ensure that if you were to pass away everything you own goes exactly where you want it to. If you die who gets your assets and possessions? It may not go to who you think if you die without a Will. Wills should be reviewed regularly to ensure they remain valid and up to date.
Every adult no matter what their assets are.
There are two types of Power of Attorney. A Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney is to appoint someone you trust to act on your behalf to ensure you get the medical treatment you would want if you were unable to make decisions for yourself. A Financial Lasting Power of Attorney gives your appointed attorney the legal ability to control your finances.
No matter what age you are, if you have a bank account and bills to pay it’s advisable to appoint someone to act on your behalf with both Powers of Attorney. They can step in and act, on your behalf and in your best interests, should you become incapacitated.
